Aston Villa’s move for Kortney Hause, a former England youth international is set to go through as a loan deal.

John Percy of The Telegraph understands that the deal will be a loan move that will see Hause move across the Midlands, from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Villa Park.

While another loan deal for a player will attract criticism, it is probably the smartest move for Aston Villa right now. Hause will come to Villa with potential, but hasn’t played first team football on a regular basis for a long time. If he fails to deliver, like Andre Moreira, Villa aren’t liable to sign the player for a fee. It’s one of the occasions where a loan deal is perhaps the smartest deal. It should prove to be rather cheap as well.

The centre-half will move to a Villa at a time where he’ll likely see action as part of the back duo or as a left back. While this isn’t the most exciting news, it’s still something. What’s more, as a left-sided centre back, Hause will bring some balance and flexibility to Villa’s back four. There will also be the option to rotate.

West Bromwich Albion were rumoured to be interested in the player, but there has been no concrete evidence of a move. There’s still time to burn on this one, so don’t expect it to be done until he’s signed on the dotted line for AVFC.
