Aston Villa’s loan market activity has continued as the club has today announced that Andre Moreira has been sent back to Atletico Madrid, cutting his loan spell short.
We can confirm that Andre Moreira is returning to Atletico Madrid.

We would like to wish Andre the best of luck for the future.#AVFC pic.twitter.com/OuyivAQUEr
Moreira made two whole appearances for Villa, with his debut against Yeovil Town in the Carabao Cup proving to be an especially entertaining performance including some wild errors and a penalty save. Despite that penalty save, Moreira was unable to offer anything else to Villa during his time at the club and dropped to 4th choice in the depth chart, and would be Villa’s 5th choice goalkeeper had Orjan Nyland not succumbed to a season-ending injury. Moreira seemed particularly unmotivated at Aston Villa and despite being the first signing of Villa’s window, there was absolutely no chance that the club would have sanctioned or offered a permanent deal to Andre.
This is the second loan deal that has been cancelled this week after Yannick Bolasie left Villa to return to Everton earlier in the week as Villa look to undo some of their summer transfer business.
At any rate, I’m sure we’ll all be wishing Andre Moreira the best.
