Could Aston Villa make a move for Liverpool man Lazar Markovic?

Probably not.

According to more random rumors - Lazar Markovic is being linked to a move to Aston Villa. Markovic, an expensive signing at Liverpool - has failed to do much of note for Jurgen Klopp’s men as of now. He couldn’t really get his feet under him during a loan spell at Hull and would benefit from a step down into the Championship.

The Serbian forward plays across the front as an attacking midfielder and would suit Villa’s needs a bit more than Josh Onomah - who can’t get into his true position at Villa and might end up heading back to Tottenham Hotspur soon enough.

It’d be a loan move, as Klopp and Liverpool still rate Markovic, and that’d suit Villa down to the ground. Markovic would offer the Villans a wide-right option that isn’t Robert Snodgrass. Would he start often for Villa? It’s not likely.

The source? Football Whispers. We can probably trust them more than previous sources, but that’s not saying much. At all. Keep an eye on it, but don’t expect much from this. Markovic is also being linked to Julian Nagelsmann’s Hoffenheim, and that seems like a more realistic move for the Serbian playmaker.
