Nathan Baker was a decent performer for Aston Villa last season, but it seems like he’s heading out the door at Villa Park.
According to a number of sources, including the Birmingham Mail, it seems that Aston Villa are ready to sell the centre-half and may have even accepted a bid. From who? Bristol City.
Baker spent a lot of time at Bristol during Villa’s relegation campaign and it looks like Lee Johnson wants him back. Baker would be a great addition for Bristol City, but he’d be a fairly big loss for Villa. Baker was a solid defender, but it looks like there is no room for him at the club, with John Terry, Chris Samba and James Chester at the club.
Letting Baker go could be a move that turns into a big mistake. He was a dedicated servant to the club and seemed to always give it his all, even if he couldn’t prevent losses. We’ll see how this turns out.
