Aston Villa need to ship off a few players, and by the looks of it, Jordan Veretout is the latest to leave the club, heading out to Fiorentina.

We’re fairly certain that the deal is a permanent deal; and Corriere Dello Sport report that Veretout will join La Viola on a five-year deal. He’ll also link up with former Villa man, Carlos Sanchez in the middle of the park for a Fiorentina side that just lost Federico Bernardeschi to Juventus. The fee is rumored to be around the €7 million mark, which means Villa won’t make a great loss on the transfer.
Jordan Veretout wasn’t a standout performer for Villa, yet he managed to avoid being total garbage for Villa. It’s interesting that he is good enough for a side chasing European football, yet isn’t good enough for a side that flirted with relegation to League One at a point last season. Maybe it’s a question of attitude? Whatever the case, it marks another loss from a 2015 summer transfer window that turned out to be an utter catastrophe.
