Would you expect Micah Richards to leave Aston Villa so soon?
No, me neither, but according to Shoot.co.uk and The Daily Mail - Sunderland are preparing to leverage Villa's excitable CB/RB from their grasp. In fact, they have had a bid rejected.
This is one of the weirdest stories I've ever heard: What would make Allardyce think Villa would let Richards go? We're not even relegated yet! Plus, if the board were to let Captain Micah go, they would be pretty much giving up for the season.Another thing to consider is this - Sunderland aren't a good team and are only fractionally better than Aston Villa right now, why the hell would Richards leave to a team just as likely to be relegated.
So there you have it. Sunderland have actually made a bid for our captain. One of our 'star' players (even if his form is as erratic as his forward runs). What a time to be a Villa fan, eh?
