There's not many people in the world I can say that I have genuinely forgotten about.
Jose Angel Crespo fits into the former category, having joined Rayo Vallecano on-loan until the end of the current season.
I can't disagree with the decision, because Crespo isn't of the highest defending calibre - but I can also find reasons to see why this might be a bad choice for Aston Villa.
Aston Villa are two injuries away from a crisis. If any two players out of Cissokho, Lescott, Richards, Bacuna or Okore are injured, Villa could be in for a real tough conclusion to their already difficult battle against relegation. Of course, Crespo can be recalled, but the Premier League would not allow for his registration, unless Richards and Okore blow up this month.
This move could be also seen as a precursor to an incoming transfer as Crespo's departure will free up a registration spot for any new arrivals at Bodymoor Heath. On the other hand, Remi Garde might just think Crespo can't cut it at this level. Either way, he's gone and like Antonio Luna & Nicklas Helenius before him, this might be the last we see of Crespo the Magnificent!
