Don't get too worked up over this, as it's about the flimsiest rumour I've seen today, but Tim Sherwood may be looking at bringing Tottenham's Andros Townsend on loan to Aston Villa. The report comes from Tom Collomosse, one of the better Spurs reporters around:
There is a possibility of Townsend to #avfc on loan but no more than that. #thfc

I mean, it's not a crazy idea. Tim Sherwood obviously rates Townsend pretty highly from his time at Spurs, and if he were to come in on loan there is almost no risk associated with the move. Yes, Villa have plenty of wingers, but the loan would basically be "well, let's get some injury insurance and see if this works out."
That's not bad thinking at all. Unfortunately, I don't see this happening. There haven't been any other rumblings on it, and though I could certainly be proven wrong, I think it's one of those flashes in the pan that are so common on Deadline Day.
