According to Portuguese media outlets, Aston Villa left back Aly Cissokho has arrived in Portugal to move to Porto on a season-long loan with an option to buy. The Diario Record tweeted:
#FCPorto - #Cissokho já está no Porto http://t.co/4zVrsA4CgK
— Diário Record (@Record_Portugal) August 4, 2015
That translates to "#Cissokho already in Porto." The linked story basically says the same thing. Cissokho, of course, played for Porto in the second half of the 2008-09 season, making fifteen appearances with the Primeira Liga club.
That Cissokho may be leaving should come as no surprise. With the arrival of Jordan Amavi, and Tim Sherwood favoring Kieran Richardson at left back even last season, Cissokho was at best the third- and likely fourth-choice left back for Villa this year.
The loan would also help Villa take their 29 non-U21 players down by one and help solve the problem of getting that list to 25 by the end of the transfer window.
