Just two weeks ago it seemed inevitable that Tottenham's Emmanuel Adebayor would be making a switch to Aston Villa. In fact, I have a story written up, ready to publish for when that happened. But it didn't, and we learned that Ade was unwilling to leave London even if he was working in Birmingham. That didn't sit well with Tim Sherwood, and the deal has seemingly fallen apart.
Well now we're hearing that Adebayor really loves the idea of wearing claret and blue. So much so, in fact, that he's holding out hope that West Ham will sign him. There's a bit of history here, as Adebayor was set to move to West Ham in January, but Spurs' owner Daniel Levy refused to help the hammers pay for any of the striker's crazy salary.
Now, Adebayor is hoping that all parties can put the past behind and figure something out. But this move just makes you wish he had come to Villa all the more. After all, what do fans want more than someone who literally just loves the colors on the shirt?*
