Jordan Ayew has his heart set on playing at Aston Villa, but it looked as if his Ligue 1 club Lorient would put a stop to thatby demanding a higher transfer fee than anticipated. But less than a day after it appeared as if the Ghanaian striker was ready to go on strike from his club, the two sides have come to an agreement on a transfer fee of about £9 million, according the the Birmingham Mail. With Ayew already in the country, the deal should move quickly assuming that there aren't any problems with his medical.
The deal was apparently struck on Saturday night after negotiations were held between Aston Villa, Lorient, Ayew, and his agent. It's not known whether or not there are any bonuses worked into the deal, but details may become more readily available after the move is finalised. Ayew is expected to be on a five-year contract with Villa that would keep him here through the 2019-2020 season.
