VIDEO: Liverpool meet Benteke's release clause after Manchester United interest

Aston Villa look set to lose Christian Benteke after a £32.5 million offer from Liverpool has triggered the Belgian's release clause.

Liverpool have reportedly met the £32.5 million release clause on Christian Benteke's contract today, and if that's true it means that the Belgian striker's fate is outside the hands of Aston Villa. Now all that can happen is the club sitting back and waiting. Meeting the clause does not necessarily guarantee Liverpool will have Benteke next year, though, as the player still has to agree to personal terms with the club.

Nevertheless, with Benteke edging closer to a move that many of us have been expecting since before the transfer window even began, Cole from TalkAstonVilla stops by to break down the potential importance of the sale and how fellow Villans are feeling after this latest piece of speculation.
