In the world of Aston Villa, positivity can only be followed by negativity. Villa beat Reading to open up a chase for second place and automatic promotion.

Then, what did Aston Villa do when Cardiff lost to Wolves to give Villa hope? Villa lost to Norwich in one of the most devastating results of the season.

This week, I, James Rushton, am back with the Holtecast for our 140th episode! I’m not joined by Dani Raza this week, but I’m delighted to bring on Matt Lynch for his Holtecast debut.

Matt’s done a lot of work in #AVFC world, and a large part of that was with our friends over at The Villa View. Give him a follow here.

We spoke about the win against Reading, the loss against Norwich, the performances of Birkir Bjarnason, and the bottom line for Steve Bruce as we head towards the playoffs. It was an enjoyable conversation, but one underpinned by frustration. Are Villa really making the most out of an exceptionally talented squad?

The answer? Well - tune in to find out.

The Holtecast is an Aston Villa podcast, and you can listen in below!

Holtecast Predictions:

Team Dani - 2

Team James - 0

Dani got the Preston 1-1 spot on to take a lead back in February, and he got the Sunderland score right. Two nil to that man.
