It’s transfer deadline day - football christmas - and the first rumour up for Aston Villa is that they are in the hunt for Manchester United target, and Sevilla forward, Wissam Ben Yedder.
Señores, última hora!! Aston Villa ha puesto 32M€ en la mesa por Ben Yedder #SevillaFC

Ben Yedder, also linked with a move to Monaco FC, is thought to be the subject of a €32,000,000 bid from Aston Villa - an offer that would blow their current transfer record bid out of the water by some margin; almost ten million pounds. Even then, that wouldn’t meet a rumoured release clause of €40,000,000.
The twenty-eight year old is a class forward with 38 goals in 91 games for Sevilla over the years and he has plenty of European footballing experience having played in the Europa League and Champions League.
Realistically, could Villa be in for him? Maybe. They were linked to a ‘MR X’ - an unknown French forward. There could be crossed wires here - but if Villa were to splash the cash then Ben Yedder fits the bill. He was looked at almost a decade ago by the club as well.
Then again, this is cash that could be used on two quality signings for Villa, but would they add up to one Ben Yedder?
