The reports are mostly coming out of Turkey from a reporter for Haber Global

So it is not a done deal as of right now. But it sounds like Aston Villa are in the driver’s seat to bring in the winger who impressed during AFCON 19 with Egypt.

The 24-year-old Trézéguet currently plays in Turkey at Kasimpasa. Last year he scored nine goals and had 10 assists. Trézéguet has been somewhat of a journeyman in his career — leaving Egypt for Anderlecht in Belguim. The winger was loaned out for two years in a row — the second year being at Kasimpasa which he joined in the summer of 2018 for a reported price of two million Euros.

He would join El Ghazi, Andre Green, and Jota as first team wingers. Green could end up going out on loan depending on his preseason, other transfers, and what Dean Smith wants.

It is worth remembering Ahmed Elmohamedy was Captain of the Egypt side with Trézéguet — and at least one report says the right back pushed Villa to look at Trézéguet. Also — one of Aston Villa’s owner, Nassef Sawiris, is Egyptian so he likely has a fondness for players from there as well as connections to try to make deals happen.
