Reports in the French press suggest that Aston Villa have moved forward with their option to purchase Anwar El-Ghazi after a successful loan spell.

It is suggested that the cost of the deal would be nine million euro, slightly higher than was rumoured. This still works out to be around eight million pounds and still represents great value.

El-Ghazi arrived at Villa last summer to add a creative wing option, and while be started fairly well, he fell away. After Dean Smith became Villa's Head Coach, the Dutch winger found more influence in the side.

This would be a deal with a lot of upside. It's a relatively cheap purchase, Anwar is still young and growing as a player and it could have incredible resale value. For El-Ghazi, he will have another chance at the highest level after helping get Villa to it in the first place.

It would seem that Aston Villa's transfer window has truly kicked off after the club were inducted yesterday. Jota has already moved to the club after a £4 million deal with Birmingham City was completed and it seems the club are on the verge of signing Kortney Hause after his loan spell.
