Monday was a celebration. Some of us continued to celebrate — though no one probably as much as Jack Grealish.

The man deserves to to celebration — but one of the leaders of the Club was asked about the future of Jack at Villa park.

Aston Villa CEO Christian Purslow didn’t mince words with Radio WM: “I really don’t think we want to be a selling club. We are Aston Villa. Jack Grealish signed a five-year deal in my second week here last September. He is the heart and soul and face of this club. He is a wonderfully gifted player and I am so pleased the nation and the world will now be able to watch Jack Grealish every week. I have no interest in selling Jack Grealish. He will lead us into the Premier League.”

Well... He seems confident in that.

And I — along with every other Aston Villa supporter — hope he was right. Jack has said he thought he was gone last summer. Now he gets to lead the team back into the Premier League. I expect rumors and reports to still circulate about him being pulled away to a top team... because there are reports about all kinds of things.

But if Purslow is to be believed — and he has given us no reason to not trust him — the captain is not for sale.
