180 minutes of football stands between Aston Villa and a spot in the Championship Play-Off Final at Wembley Stadium where the prize of promotion to the Premier League awaits. Also standing in the way? West Bromwich Albion.
Aston Villa’s local rivals have been up at the top end of the table all season, and despite having looked less than convincing over the past few months - have seemed to get the better of Villa in their two matchups - a draw and a win for Albion.
However, we’ve all come a long way since then - Villa didn’t lose a game apart from an exhibition encounter against Norwich on the final day of the season after falling to the Baggies earlier. In between, Villa won ten games in a row.
Now - the prize of promotion potentially awaits for one of these teams. The first leg at Villa Park kicks off soon - while the second game waits for Tuesday night.
