Legendary Villa manager Ron Saunders passes away

Aston Villa have today announced that former manager, Ron Saunders, has passed away at the age of 87. Ron passed away at 3pm England time earlier today.

A legendary Aston Villa manager, Saunders guided Villa to promotion in his first season in charge. He also claimed two separate League Cup titles as well as a League Title in 80/81. He also started the campaign that would eventually end in a European Cup victory.

Ron, a Midlands football hero, will be remembered with black armbands in Villa's game with Leicester City tomorrow. There will also be a moment of applause at Villa Park.

RIP Ron. We'll get that statue sorted.
