A busy transfer deadline day for Aston Villa continues with another loan deal — Winger Corey Blackett-Taylor is off to Walsall for the rest of the season.
Walsall currently sit 16th in League One — but are only four points clear of the relegation places. The club has been in rough form losing four of six.
This is the 21 year-old’s first loan move away from Aston Villa and it appears he is taking it as an opportunity to improve tell his new club, “I’m delighted to get the move done and I can’t wait to get going and gain some first-team experience with Walsall.”
Blackett-Taylor made his Villa first team debut in March 2017 as an 87’ sub and appeared in a EFL Cup match in the Fall of 2017.
The Walsall manager is happy to welcome the winger having watched him a number of times with the U-23 when they traveled to Walsall, “He’s another one who will give me plenty of food for thought in terms of team selection and further strengthens our squad.”
Both the player and the club know each other through family ties — Corey’s brother Daryl Taylor made 30 first team appearances for Walsall.
The winger is out of contract this summer after signing a one-year deal in April 2018.
