Aston Villa’s bid for Joe Bryan has hit the rocks thanks to late Fulham bid

Just when you think it is all going swimmingly, Fulham happen. Apparently the Londoners have made a late bid for an Aston Villa transfer target who as all but sealed the deal with the Villans. This could complicate things.

The signing of Joe Bryan by Aston Villa was confirmed via various media outlets not too long ago. It was widely expected that Bryan, a left-back for Bristol City, would sign for AVFC tonight following the transfer of Ørjan Nyland and John McGinn to the club, that’s not exactly the case as is now understood.

Fulham, recently promoted to the Premier League as you’ll no doubt know, have put in an offer for Bryan after he performed his medical at Aston Villa. You’d have to expect that a deal was almost signed as well. BristolLive are reporting that a move to Villa was agreed, in it’s entirety.

Rumours that Steve Bruce and his gang are pelting down the motorway chasing down Bryan and his agent are currently coming to the fore, but these are unconfirmed, if not hilarious. This has happened a few times to Aston Villa, though - the motorway thing.
