The draw for the First Round of the Carabao Cup took place with Aston Villa drawing League Two side Yeovil Town.

The game will take place at Yeovil's Huish Park in Somerset on the week commencing the 13th of August. As it is a cup tie, it will likely be a midweek game as well.

The draw for the rebranded and rejuvenated English League Cup took place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Villa took ball 2 in the Southern Section. The draw is of course split between regions, but is now unseeded, meaning Villa could have been drawn up against any other team in the pot.

Aston Villa started their Carabao Cup journey last season with an away trip to Colchester where Villa fans were treated to a victory, a Callum O'Hare debut and a marvelous performance from Jed Steer in goal. The Villans, however, were knocked out of the cup by Middlesbrough just a single round later.

Let's hope for something a little more joyous this time around.
