14:27: OH MAN IT’S NOT DEAD. Ipswich draw with Middlesbrough and will face Villa in the play-offs.
14:23: Match ends. Millwall invade pitch after a glorious season, Villa will face Derby in the play-offs. This league is on cocaine.
14:20: Blues score another, Bolton score. It’s gone mad again.
14:18: GOOD GOD. Derby 4-1 up. Middlesbrough concede again, Bolton 2-2, Fulham grab a goal back against Blues.
14:16: LEGENDARY. Mark Bunn saves the penalty, and saves the rebound, before clearning the third effort. Villa or Millwall chuck a flare on the pitch. It’s party time.
14:14: A handball given away by Villa, another penalty. Good lord.
14:04: Kodjia, Adomah and Hogan come off for Grealish, Grabban and Snodgrass. Also, Middlesbrough have scored. We’re playing them in the play-offs now.
14:01: FOREST SCORE. 1-1 with Bolton. THIS LEAGUE IS HOT.
14:01: Derby score their third and will play Villa in the play-off semi final as things stand. MADNESS
14:00: GOD. BOLTON HAVE SCORED. Burton and Barnsley now going down as it stands.
13:58: BIG MOOD

13:54: Burton equalise at Deepdale. They are staying up as it stands. What a turn around.
A reminder that this was the state of play at the bottom of the @SkyBetChamp with four games to go.

Those nerves are a-jangling... pic.twitter.com/Xip0whj9bn
13:51: It sounds like Fulham are being dragged into a streetfight over at St Andrews, and they are getting uncomfortable. 62 minutes gone at The Deb, with Villa chasing Fulham
13:48: It’d be very cool if we brought Matija Sarkic on for his Villa debut in goal.
13:46: Derby go two up against Barnsley. Wow. They are equal on goal difference with Middlesbrough.
13:45: More Steve Bruce praise from your Holtecast co-host
Think it's such testament to Steve Bruce's character that he's taken charge of the team today. Not everyone could do that after what he's been through this week. #AVFC

13:44: OH CHRISTMAS. Josh Onomah came very close with a wicked shot from 18 yards out.
13:43: Red card in the Burton game as a Preston player collects a second-yellow for diving. Villa still a goal behind at The Den, with the match already petering out.
13:35: The second-half has kicked off. Villa a goal down as the Championship falls into madness.
13:31: WHAT IS LIFE
Did anyone else just see this in the Cardiff game? Throw in from the shadow line rather than the actual touch line?? Nobody picked up on it! pic.twitter.com/sWWSJukHbK

13:18: Halftime at the Den. Millwall one up against Villa. Birmingham have scored two against Fulham.
13:11: Hogan and Kodjia switch sides again.
13:11: This is a bad take.
What’s going on with our kit today claret and blue shirt black shorts #avfc

13:04: Josh Onomah fluffs his lines as Villa spring back. Kodjia finds him open in the box and the Tottenham loanee should have hit the ball with more fury.
13:01: 1-0 to Millwall. Mark Bunn dives the wrong way and Millwall take the lead through Sean Williams
13:01: Millwall penalty. Henri Lansbury charges down a Millwall man in the box. AVFC have NOT conceded a goal from a penalty all season
13:00: Preston take the lead against everyone’s favourite team, Burton Albion. At the AVFC game, James Chester has cleared the lines for Villa once more.
12:55: Hogan heads the ball at the keeper. He’s VIlla’s winger now. Kodjia’s in the middle!
12:52: Villa still looking for a way in. It’s scrappy. Also, Sunderland are beating Wolves.
12:49: Adomah and Kodjia come close for Villa. Still 0-0.
12:48: And Birmingham take the lead against Fulham. MADNESS.
12:47: A middling game for Villa right now, not much of note happening. Derby have taken the lead in their game and need a single goal to overtake Boro.
12:41: Middlesbrough are losing to Ipswich. Big goal for Derby County.
12:39: Over in Birmingham, Fulham have went close. It’s all kicking off around the league as we approach ten minutes at The Den.
12:38: Due to a colour-clash, Villa are playing in their claret home shirts, paired with the away shorts. Friends, it’s a good look. I’m here for it.
12:30: Kick-off in Villa’s final league game of the season against Millwall. Bree, Chester and Jedinak in the middle with Hutton on the left make up the defense. Conor Hourihane, Henri Lansbury and Josh Onomah are in the midfield. Adomah and Kodjia are on the wings and Scott Hogan leads the line. Mark Bunn is in goal
Despite all the changes, it’s still a very good side for Villa.
12:22: I’m not against it.

12:12: What’s more, the Championship is DONE with the ‘B’ teams. Two teams out of Bolton, Birmingham, Barnsley and Burton, and Reading can get relegated depending on results. Birmingham face Fulham, Cardiff face Reading, so the relegation battle and the fight for 2nd place could be decided at the same time
12:11: We’ve got a mad, mad final day. While Villa and Millwall are pretty much staying put, Derby and Preston will be fighting it out for the final play-off spot. Fulham and Cardiff are duking it out for 2nd place. A win for Cardiff seals it, but if Fulham win and Cardiff drop points, it’s the play-offs for the Bluebirds.
12:00: Steve Bruce, what a guy.
Fair play to Bruce. The game today means nothing but he has made the effort after everything that has gone on in his personal life. That's commitment! #AVFC https://t.co/z6rgSzwUOu

11:38: Aston Villa make EIGHT whole changes to the side. Woah. Play-offs, much?
