After a poor opening spell from both sides, Aston Villa’s Lewis Grabban was able to continue his former club’s misfortune by burying the ball home at the Stadium of Light following an awful passage of play. Check it out:

Albert Adomah (back from injury) whips a looping ball in that eludes Scott Hogan, Robert Snodgrass and just about everyone else in the box and presented Lewis Grabban with an empty net to slam the ball into.
The loan signing from Bournemouth has made it three-in-three for Aston Villa with 3 unimpressive, yet important goals. Scoring today against Sunderland was always, always on the cards.
As for Sunderland, it looks like their goalkeeping woes are set to continue for the meantime, that was an easy ball to claim and Villa should never be presented with an open goal. Still, the two defenders could have done a better job.
With Cardiff and Fulham currently winning, Grabban’s goal came at an important time for a Villa team who can’t slip up.
