Villa managed to secure an ugly win over Swansea City, and those three points will look sweeter as the Villa boys now travel up north to seal victory over an injury hit Preston side who have failed to capitalise on their early promise.
Preston, as you may note, were the last team that Steve Bruce faced while in charge of Villa. It’s come full circle for Villa as they start their return fixtures following the visit to Wales a few days ago.
