Scott Hogan’s time at Aston Villa Football Club summed up in one word? Frustration. Utter frustration. He’s got the speed, instinct and ball skills to be a top striker, but injuries have cut everything short for him so far at Villa. He came back to preseason ready to go - and now he’s got his best chance to shine, considering that Villa’s main man, Jonathan Kodjia is out with an injury for another month or so. We might be starting with Scott Hogan through into late September.
The pressure is really on Hogan, but he’s a cracking complete forward who has a lot of potential. If he can stay fit, there’s no reason why he should make way for Kodjia - but that’s only if he can perform.
It could all fall apart for him, but we wouldn’t want that. Hogan should be Villa’s main man, but he needs to prove it. It’s a huge year for Villa, but it might be an even bigger one for Hogan.
