Oh Gabby. Not sure there is a player that causes more mixed emotions for Aston Villa supporters. The 30-year-old has been a mainstay for over a decade — but has not been good enough in recent years. The goal tallies of the last five years leave much to be desire: 5, 1, 6, 4, 12. That is not good through the “prime” years of an attacking player — who enters the final year of his lucrative contract.
The goal at home against Birmingham is clearly the highlight from last year for Agbonlahor.

If Gabby can deliver goals that help Aston Villa gain promotion — then all will be forgiven (for most). But there really isn’t alot of reason to be optimistic because fans have been hoping for gabby to come good for years. On the other hand Gabby has done it in the past — looks to be in good shape — and will get his likely get his chance to shine early in the season with Jonathan Kodjia out with an injury.
With a new season — comes new hope. So watch that goal against Blues again and hope.
