Welcome to part two of our roundtable. We are one day closer to the start of Aston Villa’s campaign, and for those of you who may have disagreed with us in yesterday’s roundtable edition, we’re one day closer to this being finished too! Anyways, today we look at managers and goal scorers.
We want to hear your thoughts too, so give us your predictions in the comments below!
Who will be the first Championship manager to get the sack this term?
Alex: Lee Johnson. Bristol City needed a late surge to stay up last year; I don’t think they carry the momentum forward without Tammy Abraham.
Elis: Leonid Slutsky. Hull are going to set promotion as their target, but I don’t think the squad is good enough, and the owner is of the unpredictable sort.
James: It could be our Bruce. If we're not super competitive by September's end, he should be worrying.
Phil: Steve Bruce.
Robert: Steve Bruce. Though I worry that the board love him too much to do anything about him if it needs doing.
Who do you think will be the top scorer in the division?
Alex: Jonathan Kodjia, if only because Villa are far too reliant on him.
Elis: Our Jimmy Danger should be up there. Think it’ll be Britt Assombalonga though.
James: Jonathan Kodjia. He should blow it away. Chris Wood is a safe bet as well.
Herbert: Chris Wood.
Phil: Jordan Rhodes.
Robert: Kodjia. He won’t have an AFCON break this year, and he should be able to keep up the goal-every-other-match pace that he set last year.
