Aston Villa are back in action and today they face MSV Duisburg in a 45 minute clash at 12 noon in the UK before facing Malaga or Hertha Berlin in a final or third place playoff later in the afternoon.

First up, the Villans are up against MSV Duisburg - newly promoted to the Zweite Bundesliga, the second ladder of German Football after winning the Dritte Liga. If Villa win, they will play at 3pm, but if they lose, they will face the losers of the Malaga v Berlin at 2pm.

Aston Villa v MSV Duisburg 12 noon UK – 45min game

Hertha Berlin v Malaga 1 pm UK – 45min game

3rd v 4th place play-off 2 pm UK – 45min game

Final 3pm UK – 45min game

This kicks off at 7am for you guys in the ET and 4am for you lot in PT.

Aston Villa have enjoyed a varied pre-season thus far. After beating Kidderminster and Telford to start off, Villa collapsed against Shrewsbury before enduring a stalemate against Walsall.

Villa will likely field a mix of first team strength with youth products - with Harry McKirdy set to make his bow for Villa after starring at the HK Soccer Sevens earlier in the summer. Look for Glenn Whelan and Ahmed Elmohamady to make an appearance as well. Ross McCormack, Gary Gardner, Tommy Elphick and Aaron Tshibola have been left at home.

So, what are we looking for?

We’re looking for Gabby to keep his form up, we’re looking for Keinan Davis, Callum O’Hare and Harry McKirdy to make a name for themselves and we’re looking for more solid performances from Chris Samba and John Terry. We’ll discuss this in the comments section below with you!
