The summer is upon us, and as ever, the transfer rumour mill is in full flow. But this year, unlike previous years, Aston Villa have a vocal owner in Dr. Tony Xia. And today, our Dr. Tony has taken to Twitter to rubbish some recent rumours.
I can tell the percentage of the truth of all the transfer news related to usno matter showing where: 0%! #UTV

If the Tweet isn't clear enough, it seems that anything we've heard so far is wrong. Not even wrong, but not even a little bit correct. Sure puts everyone in their place, doesn't it?!
It's probably worth trying to figure out just which rumour Dr. Tony is referring to here. Yesterday, the rumour doing the rounds was the one linking Villa with Norwegian defender Vegard Forren. Now, we covered this rumour yesterday, and made a point of saying that the original report did not name Villa, that was pure speculation within the Norwegian article, which was then picked up on by everyone over here.
If, this does rule Forren out, it may actually be a blessing in disguise. I don't know much about the player, but we put it to y'all on social media yesterday, and a couple of Norwegian Villans gave us their thoughts. To put it lightly, they were not fans of the 33 cap centre back.
At the end of the day, having an owner willing to debunk rumours on Twitter is probably a good thing, even if it does give journos one less thing to write about. However, Dr. Tony does have to be a little careful, especially in light of the trouble that Keith Wyness has gotten into on Twitter recently.
