Jonathan Kodjia is continuing to remind us that he’s the best thing Aston Villa have going this year. Coming into today’s match he already had 13 goals in 28 matches. In today’s rather insipid first half, Kodjia managed to make it 14 in 29.
Villa took a short corner in the 34th minute. Conor Hourihane sent the ball to James Bree, who tapped it back into Hourihane. The ensuing ball into the box managed to find the head of Kodjia, and he nodded it in to give Villa a 1-0 lead and make Villa Park explode in celebration. Here, you can see it all from the stands.
1 - 0. Kodjia.

I’m never going to get tired of Jonathan Kodjia scoring. A few minutes later Kodjia went down holding his right knee and we all had a moment of panic, but luckily he got right back up and has carried on into halftime.
We’ll have a full report after the match.
