Ummm... don’t lose, Aston Villa. How’s that for a (hopeful) preview of today’s match against Derby County? I mean, the alternative is this: Aston Villa today face off against a Derby County team who aren’t performing as well as would probably be expected. A Derby County team who have Darren Bent with nine goals as their second-leading scorer. They’ve had ups and downs, and lately it’s been a bit more of the latter. Heck, they haven’t even had a win since January. Losers.
And then there we have Aston Villa. Their leading scorer has 14 goals, but he scored all of those with another team and who cares because he’s out for more than a month with an ankle injury anyhow. Oh, and Villa haven’t won since 2016.
So yeah, let’s go with the first one. Don’t lose, Aston Villa.
