Aston Villa have confirmed on their Facebook Page that John Terry has today returned to first-team training as he looks to continue his rehabilitation from a metatarsal injury that has so far ruled him out for a good part of Villa’s fight for promotion.
Terry was taken off during Villa’s clash with Sheffield Wednesday and the boys in Claret & Blue have looked poorer without his influence at the back - some much needed defensive discipline has been lacking and James Chester is just one man, and hasn’t got enough in him to hold it together for Villa - try as he might.
When will JT return to match action? Ideally soon, although Villa have previous with rushing players into action, one only needs to look at the case of Jonathan Kodjia to see why that can go wrong.
Steve Bruce, Villa’s boss, has already been blaming injuries to Chris Samba, John Terry and Jonathan Kodjia for Villa’s recent woes - however he’ll soon run out of excuses, despite Villa’s bad luck!
