Here’s how Villa fans can lend a hand to those in need this Christmas

Christmas is awesome for most, but an extremely hard time for some. Lend a hand

Christmas for me is awesome? Why is that? I get to buy cool things for cool people, and spend time with those cool people. For others, there are some serious worries.

Serious worries like hypothermia, lack of heated water, a lack of food.

So, if you’re heading down to today’s game, please note that the Aston Villa Foundation will be supporting a donation drive for the Aston and Nechells Foodbank.

This is through a Christmas Carol Service at Aston Parish Church, close to the ground that will take place at 4pm, an hour and a half before kick off.

They are giving out hot drinks and festive mince pies, and Carols aren’t my deal, but hot chocolate really is - so there’s something for everyone.

Food banks should not exist, but they do - that’s the reality of the situation that the UK is in right now, with numbers of homeless people and rough sleepers rising. That’s not all though, salaried workers are relying on food banks just to get fed. That’s not right.
