If you thought being a Villa fan was tough right now, spare a thought for Sunderland - who have just signed Joleon Lescott on a short-term deal.

The centre-back and luxury car admirer has joined the Black Cats until the end of the season, having been left without a club when his contract at Greek club AEK Athens was cancelled.

The 34 year-old will be reunited with his boss at Everton, David Moyes - and as some have pointed out he's not the only familiar face...

Spare a thought then for our dear friends over at Sunderland sister site Roker Report, who have tried to find a few positives from the move.
