There’s a very good chance that this is the last time that we get to see the Aston Villa we’ve come to know and love/hate/feel perplexed by in the last half of 2016. The transfer window is open, AFCON is ready to start, and change is on the horizon. Heck, it looks as if Rudy Gestede might be headed out already. So enjoy this Villa while we have it.
And as a nice homage to what was, Villa are playing Cardiff City, a team that they last played just a few weeks ago. If it feels all a bit too nostalgia-y, feel free to put this on to complete the effect.
Since that meeting, Cardiff have gone 1-3-1 and Villa have put together a 3-1-2 record. A win today has the potential to move Villa up to 8th, and a loss is annoying. For Cardiff, a loss could see them finally drop into the relegation zone. It’s always tough to play away from Villa Park, but this should be a match n which Villa have a good chance. Here’s how you can follow along!
