Jordan Ayew has had a largely frustrating season. He runs around a lot. And that running usually doesn’t end up doing much that pays off. And he’s been a bit petulant at times.
But this is football, and we’re just as quick to forgive as we are to condemn. It’s a fault, but at least we all know it. And Jordan Ayew has earned some measure of our forgiveness and love with this lovely goal against Barnsley. Jonathan Kodjia took a shot that forced the keeper into a save, but the ball went off to the left, where Ayew gathered it. From there, with a bit of fancy dribbling, he had little trouble slotting it in for the goal.
Have a look:

Now the question is: can Aston Villa manage to hold onto this lead and not succumb to a draw in the 86th, 87th, 88th, or 89th minute (or, god forbid, stoppage time).
