Aston Villa 2016-17 player preview: Jordan Amavi

Hey, Jordan Amavi’s still here!

Jordan Amavi is a very talented player. His brief Aston Villa career so far has flashes of brilliance. That’s not to say he was flawless. He did make some big mistakes. But it’s easy to see why Villa paid as much money as they did for him. Then he got hurt.

Following his injury, Villa really struggled at left back. While Aly Cissoko was eventually recalled from his loan, the damage was already done and Aston Villa were doomed to relegation.

Early summer reports rumored that he would be leaving Villa, however that talk has quieted down. He appears to be sticking around. Which is good news.

In his brief flashes, Amavi appeared to be an upper-third Premier League player (maybe higher) when he puts it all together. Now Villa have that player in the Championship. It’s hard not to be excited that Jordan Amavi is an Aston Villa player.
