Alan Hutton will probably play too much for Aston Villa in 2016-17 season, because Alan Hutton has played too much for Aston Villa in general.

Right now right back isn’t exactly Villa’s strongest position, hence Alan Hutton. There’s still time in the transfer window to upgrade the position, so it’s possible  Hutton won’t be needed as much this season, but there are no guarantees.

If not for his random spell of good form at the start for the 2014-15 season, he might not still be at the club. Hutton was sent out on loan three different times under Paul Lambert, but somehow won the right back position back to start the 14-15 season. He’s made 60 appearances in the two seasons since.

Since then his form has varied somewhere in between somewhat acceptable and bad. In 2016-17, he will probably vary between being somewhat acceptable and bad. That’s what he is.

However, we will always have the time he kicked a West Brom player in the dick, adding enough injury time for Villa to win a last minute penalty to beat the Baggies.
