Scott Sinclair edges closer to Celtic move

He’s off to Scotland!

After removing the fabled words ‘Aston Villa’ from his twitter bio and receiving numerous bids for his services, Scott Sinclair’s brief stay at Villa Park seems to be over.

Sinclair, once thought to be one of the English games leading talents is set to move north of the border to Celtic, after spells at Swansea, Manchester City, West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa.

Scott is now 27 and should be in his peak and whilst he had a ‘decent’ year at Villa (decent by our standards anyway...), he hasn’t really met expectations. He’s shown glimpses of pace, agility and on occasion some decent finishing, but he’s never been the first-name on the team sheet.

Enter Celtic.

Celtic have put a large number of bids in for Sinclair over the past few weeks and the fee could be upwards of £5 million. This is good news for Villa as they seem to be moving away from relying on the likes of Sinclair on the wing, opting for the attacking prowess of Jordan Ayew and Ross McCormack over speed.

I mean, it’s been good whilst it lasted, Scott. He’ll be a good signing for Celtic.
