It may have taken a while to get the ball rolling on transfers at Aston Villa this summer, but Bodymoor Heath has been a wheelhouse lately.
The latest fresh face to join Roberto Di Matteo’s squad is 29-year-old Scottish striker Ross McCormack. The forward joins from fellow Football League Championship side Fulham for £12 million, confirmed by the club on Twitter.

Villa finally have what they need in McCormack, a striker that can bang home the goals. Villa fans may have thought they were getting that last year in Rudy Gestede, but the former Fulham man is a totally different type of player. He's a well-rounded attacker, who isn't bad in any discipline.
In exactly 100 appearances for the Cottagers, McCormack scored 42 goals and assisted 22. That's the kind of production that Aston Villa need out of him if they want to achieve promotion back to the Premier League.
