Coming into this season, we knew that it was going to be harder than ever to watch Aston Villa. Even though there are more matches in the Football League Championship, fewer are televised.
Today it was announced that three matches in October and November had been selected for Sky Sports TV coverage, per an announcement on the official site.
When are the games going to be played?
Start times have been altered in two of these three matches, and the date has been switched for one. (All times GMT/BST)
The first of these three, the home match against Wolves on October 15th (Saturday), will move from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
A live broadcast has been confirmed for the Second City Derby at Birmingham City on October 30th (Sunday), but the match won’t change its kickoff time from 12:00 p.m.
Originally scheduled for Saturday, November 19, the trip to Brighton has been moved up to Friday night at 7:45 p.m.
What does that mean for us, as fans?
It means that we will get to see more Villa! In the US, Sky Sports may not exist, but games shown by Sky mean the cameras will be there, and that beIN Sports (the rightsholder in America) will have video that they can relay to said audience.
Are you excited that these games have been selected for coverage? Annoyed that you won’t be able to get to the Friday night fixture? Let us know in the comments!
