Remember last week when we all wanted REAL football to return? And now, a mere three days after Aston Villa’s first match of the season, they’re back at it again. But despite the fact that midweek matches are de rigueur in the Championship, we’ve still got to wait for that.
Instead today we get treated to a first-round EFL Cup match against League Two side Luton Town. The Hatters finished eleventh in the division last year, and would probably be bereft of hope in this match were it not for the fact that Villa have an unnerving propensity to lose this type of affair.
But that shouldn’t happen. Instead we should get to see Villa win a meaningful match, and we get to watch it on TV. We’re spoiled right now, really. Two matches in two competitions that we are not going to see a lot of TV coverage of, and we get two TV matches in a row. Enjoy it now, while it lasts!
Here’s everything you need to follow along!
Location: Kenilworth Road, Luton, England
