After placing a £5 million pound offer on the table for Reading’s Aaron Tshibola, Aston Villa will now invite the talented midfielder to Birmingham to undergo a medical ahead of a transfer confirmation.
Teamtalk and Pete O’Rourke have confirmed that Villa have jumped ahead of Norwich, Crystal Palace, West Brom and Celtic in the face to sign the former England youth player.
What this now means is that should Tshibola pass his medical, Villa are a signature away from boosting their midfield ranks with a injection of youth to complement Jordan Veretout and Gary Gardner should Idrissa Gana and Ashley Westwood depart Aston Villa.
Credit where it’s due, Teamtalk have been a step ahead in this story and I can’t wait to see if Aaron Tshibola can replicate or even go further than Fabian Delph.
Let’s just hope he doesn’t get too good, in case he decides to stagnate on the bench at Manchester City.
