Dr. Tony Xia has announced he has passed the Football League tests to complete the takeover of Aston Villa:

The announcement was posted to his personal Weibo account, the Chinese micro-blogging site and roughly translates to:
16.6.2016, London, 11:30, the formal completion of the Football League proper test!
Vera* completed the acquisition formalities!
The beginning of a journey unknown but worth the challenge!
This comes after a meeting yesterday between Dr. Xia and representatives from the Football League and could signal that the formal announcement will be made today.
Villa fans will no doubt take a sigh of relief that the Randy Lerner era has finally been brought to an end and the side can finally look to the future - especially with the happy news that Charles N'Zogbia and Kieran Richardson have also finally left the club.
