And the dismal season finally came to an end. I suppose there is some measure of drama in today's match, but it has nothing to do with Aston Villa and everything to do with Arsenal. If the Gunners win and Tottenham lose, Arsenal finish in second place. Keep in mind that the second place finish is an absolutely dismal failure if you listen to the majority of their whining don't-know-how-good-they-have-it fans.
If Arsenal lose, they could get passed by Manchester City, who have to get a win and make up five goals worth of difference. Just imagine being a Manchester City fan and hoping that Aston Villa can help you out.
And as for us, it's the end of a long road to relegation. It's a road that started in August, or in June, or in 2010 with the resignation of Martin O'Neill, or when Randy Lerner bought the club. But whatever date you put, this is the end of it. Aston Villa are playing their final match in the Premier League.
So it probably won't be fun (if you wanted fun Arsenal-Villa you should've watched the midweek U21 match), but you'll probably want to watch anyhow.
And, as always, UTV.
