Aston Villa's U21 squad is playing for promotion to the top tier of the U21 league tonight. They are traveling to play Arsenal in a U21 match where players are given the chance to develop and play at a level that will help the senior squad.
For this U21 match, Aston Villa have sent out a lineup that looks much like what they have used in the rest of their U21 season. A lineup full of U21 players who generally only get appearances with the U21 team.
How have Arsenal responded to this U21 match? By sending out a lineup that includes Joel Campbell, Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin, and Calum Chambers. Only one of those players is 21, and between the four, they have 69 appearances in the Premier League this season.
Guess times are tough at the Emirates and they'll do anything they can to win a trophy, even if it is only the playoff promotion from the second level of U21 football trophy. What a bunch of wankers.
Here's the team sheet for the evening. Eff Arsenal.
