The club was in safe hands.
Relegation might have been a blessing in disguise. We can rebuild with the right men in charge!
False, false and false as with a new day, comes a new crisis at Villa Park.
Matt Dickinson, Times journalist has with reported that both David Bernstein and Mervyn King have resigned from their respective positions at Aston Villa with immediate effect.
Exclusive - Aston Villa in fresh meltdown as David Bernstein and Mervyn King resign with immediate affect saying positions untenable

While this might not be as negative as it looks (maybe Lerner and Hollis wanted to give Little a bigger role?) it is certainly not good. Bernstein was meant to be the steady hand to guide the Villa ship away from the rocks and Mervyn King is a Villa lifer, who has the club's interests at heart.
I can't get my head around it, but this does not look good for the future of Aston Villa.
**Update**
Our own MattVillan got his hands on David Bernstein's resignation letter. Aston Villa have also released an official statement.
