Collymore tweets Lescott message, deletes it, and then goes studs up on defender

Oh. My. God.

I am not a big fan of Stan Collymore. His professed love of Aston Villa may be well-founded, but it always strikes me as simply an angle with which he can get attention and importance. And his general attitude is that of an absolute jerk, at least on Twitter and the radio.

But I am even less of a fan of Joleon Lescott. In fact, Lescott is currently my least favorite part of supporting Aston Villa. So when Collymore decided to air some laundry between him and Lescott on twitter, I was put in the awkward position of taking schadenfreude from one person I dislike simply because it was directed at someone I dislike more.

Here's the first tweet Collymore sent:

He deleted it VERY shortly after. At that point, I'd screencapped and tweeted it, but figured it wasn't worth writing a story about. But then, a few minutes later, it became apparent that the post/delete was part of some grand schtick. It was all a set-up so that Collymore could absolutely savage Lescott. And he did it so simply, too:

My god. It's... perfect. In case you need the background, have a read.

No word yet if Joleon Lescott is receiving treatment for third degree burns.

(As an addendum with a bit of rationality, this tweet from Adam Clark is absolutely spot-on. But logic be damned, it feels good to vent some rage at Lescott.)
