The less said about this match, the better.
Aston Villa hit a new low point with this 6-0 Valentine's Day Massacre at Villa Park against a Liverpool team that had been struggling in recent weeks. Just be aware: the Villa players couldn't put in 90 minutes of genuine effort for the home crowd on Sunday afternoon, so I'm not putting too much effort in their ratings either.
So here we go...these are the Aston Villa player ratings from this match:
GK: Mark Bunn, Rating: 3
Flapped at Liverpool's second goal. Weak on a few other chances too. Did make a great save on Daniel Sturridge in the first half.
RB: Micah Richards, Rating: 1
Is Richards ever in position? No. In fact, he's usually everywhere except where he's supposed to be.
CB: Jores Okore, Rating: 2
After a week in which he said he'd like to play in the Champions League, it was a bad time for Okore to have his worst game in a long time.
CB: Joleon Lescott, Rating: 0
Pathetic during and after the match. His marking of Sturridge on the first goal was comical, and his post-match tweets -- intended or not -- were another embarrassment to Aston Villa Football Club on Sunday.
LB: Aly Cissokho, Rating: 4
Maybe Villa's only attacking threat, playing in a couple decent crosses. One of few players I wouldn't be upset to see starting in the next league match.
CDM: Idrissa Gana Gueye, Rating: 4
One player who I couldn't fault his effort, but he definitely didn't have a good day either.
CDM: Ashley Westwood, Rating: 3
Tidy on the ball but invisible off it, giving the Liverpool the freedom of Villa Park to have space and pick passes.
RCM: Leandro Bacuna, Rating: 2
Versatile to a fault. He doesn't have a set position, can't cross and offers very little in Villa's current "strategy" under manager Remi Garde.
LCM: Jordan Veretout, Rating: 3
Veretout needs movement and space to be at his best. Villa had neither on Sunday.
CAM: Carles Gil, Rating: 3
A talented player, but not a Premier League player. His lack of pace and strength always are exploited when Villa play the top teams in England.
ST: Gabby Agbonlahor, Rating: 3
Held up the ball well enough in the first 15 minutes but completely disappeared after.
SUBS
ST: Scott Sinclair, Rating: 5
Had a bright substitute appearance, hitting the post after a great move.
RCM: Jordan Lyden, Rating: 5
Appeared in some good positions but couldn't capitalize. That's a lot more than can be said of many of his teammates unfortunately.
RB: Alan Hutton, No Rating
Shockingly, he wasn't able to save Villa on Sunday.
